If we are to solve the greatest problems of the 21st century—we must end our elected officials’ dependencies on special interests. Public campaign financing is a proven way to create a cleaner, more accessible system of elections in North Carolina. With your financial support, we can expand these programs and continue to make our state election process work better for average voters and the public interest.

North Carolina Voters for Clean Elections is a not-for-profit corporation. It neither supports nor opposes political candidates. However, because we are a 501(c)4, contributions are not tax deductible, but still worth making.
We should make voting as easy as possible in order to encourage everyone to practice their civic duty.
I would like to see legislation passed that brings about comprehensive redistricting reform that is transparent, fair, impartial, and, above all else, nonpartisan. Legislators should not be allowed to decide who votes for them. This would bring about fair, competitive elections that would ensure fairness to all North Carolinians, make every vote count, and promote public confidence in our political system.
I believe there needs to be comprehensive campaign finance reform. Citizens’ United reopened Pandora’s Box allowing special interest groups with huge sums of available cash have an unbalanced influence on our elections. Laws need to be put in place that impose limits on campaign contributions and loopholes that allow donors to remain unknown removed.
